Empowering people to thrive as themselves

We create healing, community-led spaces for real conversations

This means making room to explore life’s tender, complex, and often stigmatized experiences in the Black community and beyond.

Let's Break Cycles of Shame and Silence

What We Know

Too often our life experiences are met with stigma, inequity, shame and silence – patterns that echo through generations, shaping how we see ourselves and each other

Our Approach

We empower people to unlock their authentic selves, embrace who they are, and extend that authenticity into their communities – fostering connection and resilience that uplifts us all.

What We Can Do Together

Healing Conversations

We create culturally-informed circles of trust where our safety and wellbeing is prioritized and we benefit from each-others’ wisdom and experiences.

Job Readiness Support

We partner with you to deliver interactive and culturally-informed employment support for young people experiencing intersecting forms of discrimination.

Community Facilitation for Systems Change

We support corporations to move beyond consultation toward shared power by co-creating fair agreements that protect land, centre First Voices, and ensure long-term community benefits.

What Makes Us Unique

We are proud to be adaptable

We don’t limit how we show up. We adapt based on changing community needs and are not dependent on the shifting priorities of large institutional systems.

We do not conform to the power imbalance within many philanthropic models

This is about community helping community. We see ourselves as a convener of peer support that strengthens our collective ability to care for one another and address challenges together.

Unity is the voice of community

We stay guided by the lived realities and voices of our community. Our strength comes from listening deeply, remaining flexible, and acting collectively.

Black Girls Pillow Talk

Creating Safe Spaces & Sisterhood. Black Girls Pillow Talk, led by Angelina Simmonds of North Preston, empowers and inspires Black girls and women to love the skin they’re in and challenge the status quo. Our initiatives are designed to create nurturing and encouraging spaces for young Black girls to share their lived experiences, uplift one another, prompt the healing of intergenerational trauma, experience joy, and thrive together. In a world of individualism and siloed resources, we blend self-care with community care to ensure every girl feels supported, seen, and strengthened by her community. No one has to figure out life alone. Follow along on Instagram for upcoming events!
