About Us
At A Team Coaching, we are an award-winning, proud family-owned and operated business that honours the commitment and sacrifices past generations have made so we can all have a better life today. Our work is a purposeful and collaborative continuation of our ancestor’s visions toward a more just and equitable future for us and future generations. This is not just work, it is our family legacy.
We take a human-centric approach toward fostering inclusive change, where efforts intersect across personal, collective, and systems levels of influence. You can’t unlearn biases if you don’t have policies and leadership to enforce behaviour change, and you can’t make operational or structural shifts without understanding the deeper ‘why’ behind the work.
This is why our services reflect the big picture.
We partner with organizations and people who are willing to learn from their mistakes, and view equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) as a life-long journey and responsibility. By combining our lived experience, education, law, and political backgrounds, and our network of specialized consultants, we strive to advance lasting systems and social changes that everyone can see themselves as a part of.

Adré Simmonds is a coach, mentor, wellness advocate, and performance development specialist committed to helping individuals and teams reach their full potential. As Director of Wellness & Performance Development at A Team Coaching, Adré leads the organization’s wellness, resilience, leadership, and performance programming, helping youth, athletes, professionals, and organizations build the skills necessary to thrive both personally and professionally.
A proud African Nova Scotian from North Preston, Adré has been passionate about sport, leadership, and personal development from an early age. Adré’s athletic journey provided opportunities to compete and lead at some of the highest levels of football in Canada. He represented Team Nova Scotia, earning Offensive MVP honours, and later attended Saint Andrew’s College, where he received both Offensive MVP and Overall MVP recognition. He also had the privilege of representing Team Canada, experiences that helped shape his leadership philosophy and deep understanding of resilience, discipline, teamwork, and high performance. These lessons continue to influence his approach to coaching, wellness, and performance development, where success is built through accountability, growth, and a commitment to helping others reach their full potential.
Adré continued his athletic career at Saint Mary’s University as a varsity football player and Running Back Captain, where he became known for leading by example and fostering a culture of accountability, resilience, and excellence. His commitment to continuous growth later led to opportunities within professional football and coaching, including serving as Running Back Coach with both the Auburn Eagles and Dalhousie Tigers.
While athletics have played a significant role in shaping his leadership philosophy, Adré’s work extends far beyond the football field. As a certified trainer, coach, and youth development leader, and founder of both Mind & Muscle with Adré and Precision Play Camp, he has developed programs that intentionally connect physical performance, mental resilience, confidence building, and personal growth. His approach recognizes that true success is built through both physical preparation and emotional wellbeing.
Through A Team Coaching, Adré delivers wellness programming, resilience coaching, youth leadership development, movement-based learning experiences, and community engagement initiatives. He also facilitates employment readiness and leadership development programming for youth and emerging leaders, such as CultureShift: Job Readiness Training, helping participants build the confidence, discipline, and life skills necessary to succeed in a variety of environments.
Adré lives by the words of Jerry Rice: “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.” This philosophy continues to guide both his personal journey and his commitment to helping others achieve their goals.
